The Brief
The client required a website design for the Newcastle Institute of Higher Education in Singapore which was a subsidiary of University of Newcastle Australia. The Institute focused on higher education and master degrees. There was extensive information to organise on the various courses, and faculties.
The Challenge
The Singapore website had to keep in line with the branding of the Australian parent. However, as this was a higher education institute, NAIHE needed to appear more professional and mature compared to UON Australia, which has a more youthful and friendly vibe to its branding.
After card sorting to rework the information architecture, we moved on to UI UX design and prototyping. This was an interesting exercise in creativity due to the constraint of being unable to change the main brand colours or fonts, yet creating a different feeling to the design through the visual hierarchy and space used in the design.
